Jean Daoud became famous for his Holistic Method in his three paths: Actor Training, Creative Pedagogy, and Play, Art and Creativity Therapy.
In addition to his well-known Holistic Method, also known as the Sufi Method, Jean Daoud took monumental initiatives that usually only countries undertake. For example, he single-handedly organized the “First Festival of Theater and Performances,” which was the first of its kind in Lebanon, featuring twelve performances, theaters renovations, and the construction of new showrooms. He also initiated other projects, such as “The Monday Theater” to connect students with the community as a preparation for entering the job market. Additionally, he established the “Beirut Theater Congress,” which aimed to develop theater and actor training across the Arab world… All of this is just the tip of the iceberg.
Jean Daoud made significant theoretical contributions to the world of theater and acting, which garnered attention internationally.
As a theater artist, Jean Daoud contributed to Lebanese theater with dozens of works, both in writing and directing.
All of this prolific activity did not deter him from his role as an educator and academic. He dedicated his time to teaching and administration at the Lebanese University, where he taught in the Faculty of Fine Arts, the Faculty of Letters, and played a leading role in establishing the Department of Art Education: Theater in the Faculty of Education, where he served as its head. He also headed the Department of Theater and Cinema in the Faculty of Arts. Jean Daoud was appointed as the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture, the government commissioner to the Lebanese University Council, and a member of its council, and various committees, including the Academic Strategic Committee. He worked to promote the image of the university, established the “Lebanese University Choir”, and created an organizational framework for academic guidance within the university.
